Segment One – The Derby

The Derby is for anyone who rides. You will receive 50 points just for joining and 1 additional point for every hour you ride.  It doesn’t matter whether you’re trail riding, competing, taking a lesson, or just playing around with your horse at home. If you’re sitting on the back of your horse, it counts as riding time.  All you have to do is ride and log your ride time into the membership area via our website.

At the end of the challenge, the 3 people with the most ride time wins, places or shows in this segment. 

A rider membership is a one time sign up fee of $50. 

Segment Two – The Referrals 

In this segment, all you have to do is encourage your friends to join the Challenge.  When your friends join and list you as a referral (be sure and give them your membership number or username), you will receive 500 points for every new participant that you referred. 

Every new participant that you refer will also receive 50 points towards the Derby just for joining.   

A rider membership is a one time sign up fee of $50.

Segment Three – The Sponsors

In this segment, each Challenge participant will receive 1 point for every dollar of sponsorship funds they are able to obtain.  For example: If your sponsor gives $750, then you receive 750 points in Segment 3.

Each sponsor will have to register as a sponsor via our website at:  https://horseshopehumans.org/sponsor/ and list your membership number or username in order for you to receive the credit. 

There are 3 types of sponsors as follows:  

Blue Ribbon Sponsor / $500 or more 

Red Ribbon Sponsor / $100 – $499 

Yellow Ribbon Sponsor / $1 – $99
